The lovely hills of Vieques behind Red Beach or 'Bahia Corcho'


Below is a topography map of the area, showing why this beach has so many names! Cerro means hill, so Caracas hill is behind the beach, the Bay is 'Bahia Corcho'. ( Corcho: means cork). Caracas is the name of the Venezuelan Indians from around Caracas, Venezuela, who migrated up the island chain a thousand years ago.
